Garden Tea Co. is a family owned, farm based retailer of compost tea ingredients, organic worm castings, organic fertilizers and soil amendments. We began our farm/ business journey in 2011 with a passion for growing high quality, nutrient dense foods. We believe that healthy, vibrant, homegrown foods begin with healthy living soil and offer an array of products in support of holistic regenerative organic agriculture. These are products that we use on our small family farm, Black & Elder, located outside Asheville, NC in the Alexander community.
Black & Elder farm is situated along the banks of Newfound Creek, a tributary to the French Broad River. Our humble 4 acre parcel consists of rich bottom-land floodplain and our hillside homestead & annual gardens. Along our creekside bottom-land, that is prone to occasional flooding, we have been establishing permaculture orchards with wet tolerant fruit and nut crops that include; Elderberry, Mulberry, Black Raspberry, Blackberry, Paw Paw, Persimmons, Hazelnut, and Walnuts.
At our hillside homestead we have permaculture landscaping interweaving peaches, plums, quince, and over 20 unique varieties of old southern apples. In addition, we care for an ever expanding number of honeybee colonies providing pollination for our neighborhood and producing honey, beeswax, propolis and pollen for the market.
At present we are a home/ farm based business and also hold jobs in other avenues, as a result we do not keep regular business hours. Email is our preferred method of contact. If you do need immediate assistance you can try calling, you might get lucky. If we're not available to take your call, we'll get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks for your understanding.
